I’ve copied OMUs with a cheap TL866–II off of Amazon. I’m sure a Dataman can do it. You just have to choose the right chip.

You’ll have to get new job configs to add a CNA card but there are probably enough extra IOs on the IOC card to do it.

A quick way to rule out an encoder issue on an IMC-AC controller with an F5 drive is to set the drive to open loop (LF.30) and see if it persists.

I completely agree, this is nonsense. Every concern mentioned (over and over and over) can be mitigated by correct adjustment and good maintenance.
