We looked at MEI also. In the end it came down to price. With MEI you can get the whole package and save a lot of leg work.

We have only done the H-W package. Of course you have to outsource the cab, controller and everything else. We have not had any issues out of the H-W ...

Headlamps are the choice here also. Rechargeable batteries with a charger in the trucks.

Somebody else might have more input. I believe if you have downloaded lon, you will not need the adapter. If it is a complete loss you will need it.
