I've got a car that drops everything out during a run intermittently. Will throw a drive unit and car door/sd ray fault led. It is not loosing door locks or gate when this happens. Also when trying to relevel I'll get my door pinch but direction pilot and supervisory relays will not get up. Sometimes will get direction but K1 contact will not turn on so no motor field. It's very intermittent and we have no moniter or laptop to use in troubleshooting. Please give me any thoughts or direction to look into. Thanks.

I may have found it. I resocketed and tightened connectors on 383 board ( motor field board). Ran the rest of the day without a glitch.

The TMS 600 Motor Field Board uses the K1 relay for the detection of Motor Field. The Brake Board is the same board without the use of the K1 Relay. The Jumper configuration between the 2 boards is different and critical. Especially the 50 or 60 Hz Jumpers. K1 will drop 464 system supervision relay if opened in flight, start or stop. The adjustment procedure in the book is complex and rarely works for long. The running Motor Field VS Full field can cause the K1 relay to drop if there is to big a spread between the 2. The board Monitors a percentage difference to keep K1 energized. The Simplest way to set the correct Motor Field settings is first read the Empty Car Down ARMATURE Voltage and compare it with Name plate Motor Voltage (MA1-MA2). Write down Forcing, Running, and Standing Voltages of the fields(MF1-MF2). Place the car at an Intermediate floor on Inspection. Open the safety circuit Controller switch. Try to run the car from the controller on Inspection. Turn forcing and running Pots counter clockwise. Pots are progressive. Changing a lower pot affects the above pot or pots. Standing should be 30V for 120 Volt Fields and 60V for 230v fields. Running volts is set by armature volts. To keep K1 swing Correct between run and force set forcing volts to 10-20 volts higher then running. One Other important check is the SCR's. Use a voltmeter with a Frequency Setting. If you read MF1-MF2 and get 120Hz both SCR's are working. If you read 60Hz only one of 2 SCR's is working. Voltages can be adjusted with a bad SCR and cause a nightmare of problems. Recheck settings with warm fields later if adjusted cold.

Thank you Rolly. I just picked up 10 of them. Will definitely check them all.
