Hello
Having communication problems with a tac 20. Have a two car group, cars 2 and 3, problem with car 2. IMS will connect to car 3 but not car 2 when it is plugged into either controller. Changed 188E but still cannot connect to upload eeprom. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks

You have to upload software with Hyper Terminal. Will that not connect? IMS will not till you upload the needed files.

Rodney is right on, and if it's a Lon you have some more work also.

Then you have a bad board or Hyperterminal is not setup right.

Second board replacement took care of our issue. Thanks for the help guys!
