My client was injured when an Otis MRVF elevator dropped. I am looking for an expert to consult with and/or any information on MRVF elevators and their battery issues. My e-mail address is [email protected] or my telephone number is 504-522-3333.

Traction elevators very, very, very rarely “drop.” They stop suddenly when a door lock or safety device opens and the passenger feels like the car “dropped.”
Not that it isn’t possible but the car has to be more than half full to even have a possibility to drop down (empty cars go up.)
Also, you would be looking at a mechanical failure, not controller related.

You might try Bill Raffa in California. He is an expert witness for court cases. If he is still alive. Will PM you his phone number.
