We have a 32 story job with ECI locks. The installer did not break the locks down into sets of 8 to 10 floors so when you have an open lock the whole string is in question. Just wiggleing the doors will cause the locks to produce resistance in the K ohms. Does anyone know the trick to these locks to keep them operating? Are we cleaning them wrong? So far all we can do is replace contacts and that is only a short term fix. THANKS

Ive had many problems with ECI door locks-mostly with lower voltage door lock circuits(24 and 48vdc) Its best to replace the ones that are a problem and not dress them. A "loading" resistor can be added to the door lock circuit to increase the current in the circuit but it may not be your answer

Don't you just love those locks! About all you can do is clean them with a cloth and maybe dress them with an eraser. Anything more coarse and you will scratch what looks to be sprayed on silver. If you can find a schindler tech in your area they had a "plastic guage" to set correct depth and position of shorting contact. When I was working for schindler they used them on most of the hydro product line!!
