Dover T3 car runs great in the up, but overshoots the floor in the down direction and re-levels. We noticed that the floor position count is about 1000 counts higher than the learned floor position after a down run. On an up run it lands perfectly and the position count is within 5 or 10 counts. It seems logical that the slowdown curve is too late in the down since the position count is higher than it should be, but why only the down?
The car will continue running this way until we get intermittent error code 23 DAR tach faults, which takes the car out of service. We have procured a new aux sensor card to replace tomorrow. Any input is appreciated.

Gotta be a failing (slow actuating) slowdown sensor to cause overshooting in down direction only. That would be my first guess. Is it just the terminal? Or all floors?

Thanks but unless I am mistaken the processor determines when to begin the slow down based on the parameters for the profile and what the pulse count is.

No you’re right, it has a floor table and sets the slowdown based on DTO digital target offset. You could try increasing this for diagnostic purposes but it does seem like you are not counting correctly in the down direction. I think it’s the Auxiliary sensor board on the selector that does the counting. I’m pretty sure something in the DAR or REG board could cause the overshoot but wouldn’t explain the position count discrepancy.

So we ended up replacing the new regulator card, performed the adjustment procedure again and the problem went away. I find it hard to imagine how the regulator card could have caused the pulse count / late slowdown issue in only the down direction. We had tried all the profile adjustment with no success. The car could definitely slow down properly because when approaching the bottom terminal the limits slowed it down just fine. Regarding the position count discrepancy, interestingly, the count would stay off by around 1000 counts until starting the next run. Now, the count resets immediately after landing even though it's only off a little. Another oddity is that prior to replacing the reg card again, while running on inspection, up was fine but the car would only run down a few feet (on inspection) and then stop with a 25 and 13 error. Go figure.
Thanks for the input.
