Seen this before. I thought it was a hoax at first, but not real sure anymore.

i had this happen in a retail store with a tall ladder here in town. broke 3 steps, luckily the guy was riding backwards and was above the hole. this is the same store where we got a call the escalator wasn't running. we got there and they had like 20 shopping carts piled up in the middle of the unit.
