Have a belt driven Dover 1968. Changed unit to submersible with Maxton valve. Two stop, car overshoots floor and levels down. Maxton thought valve was bad, sent us another. Does same thing. Hoping somebody else has had this problem.

If you pull the solenoids off while the car is in flight, does the car stop quickly?

Is it sized correctly?

check your aux contacts on the main contactors. got a job once to do the same thing cause the maintaning contractor said the valve was shot. we got the service repair to replace the belt drive unit with a submersible and a new valve. when we turned on the new drive unit. the car was stopping high. it was stopping when the pump stopped. it ended up being an aux. contact on one of the main contactors.

one more, if your valve BP, which is the sizing wasn't set up properly, you will push up past the floor with the soft stop timer. Also if you went from a Dover Valve to a Maxton you have to do a wiring change in the up side, the down side is ok, but in the up you must pick both valves on start, then drop the us valve at slow down while keeping u energized until you are done leveling.

I think you got the end mixed up john jay. But we get the point. Did you move slowdown point on rail to compensate? Adjust it to the valve, do not try to assist valve to old slowdown distances. That's step #1.

yes sorry, you drop u and keep us energized. To do this you must keep the us valve coil in with the u relay on the controller.

We got it. Keep it simple stupid!! Move the level up flag to compensate for the overshooting. Unit rides and stops perfectly. Thanks for the responses.
