Have a tms 900 gearless car (500fpm)that intermittantly won't open the doors on a 1 or 2 floor run, but will open on a multifloor run. We have changed the I/O boards, the BAM board, the cpu board, the matrix board, the prom board. Swapped the tachs, updated the floor table. The door limits are in the proper state. Have changed the 487 relays and checked the state of all contacts in general. Replaced the door zone optic switch on the landing system. The mode of service doesn't effect the problem - ind. srv., auto, firemens etc.. The car functions normally except for this with no fault indication from the BAM board. Resetting the processor makes the trouble disappear for up to 2 months. Any suggestions?

Sorry for the dumb question, but...What's a "tms 900"

nvrmnd, found it. Some kind of Kone product, yes? Before the wonderful and excellent KCM 831 control?

It is a Kone product from the early 90's, actually an Armor Kone product.

How is the car's approach to the floor? Some controls will inhibit automatic door opening if the velocity in the door zone is over the limits. Just a thought anyhow.

The approach looks and feels normal (comparable to other car in duplex). I will take a closer look.
