Besides the obvious choices, any ideas?
Have swapped the regulator card, checked the LEMS, checked the motor coils, replaced the main contractor, checked the IGBTs, swapped the DSP and CPU cards, etc.
this one is whipping me. Help?!!

without having the fault codes in front of me I don't remember what a 658 is

658 Fault is not in the TAC50 manual that I've seen, it goes from 657 to 700. Maybe if you have IMS you can enter the code and ask what it is?

658 =Motor Connection errorThe current regulator failed to achieve regulation in at least one of the AC motor
phase or the DC armature in one second after startup. At the start of each run, the drive will test the current
regulation to verify that themotor is connected properly. Drops Safety string via WDPF. Will not close Safety
string until given a manual reset request from the CPU or a DSP card reset. Red LED on DSP card will be
on solid.

When you checked the machine did you use a megger?

The motor has been checked, the current regulator board has been swapped, and the starter has been replaced. All IGBT's have been checked. This problem started when a coworker swapped CPU and DSP boards. I don't know if he correctly changed the chips as he did it.

Do you have the old boards where you can swap the chips? To rule out that possibility.
Another question what was the car doing before that led you to change the DSP and the CPU

Sp@kette22,
Who's the manufacturer?
What model?
What year was it installed?
And most importantly are you a elevator mechanic?

how did we get from a Tac 50 question, to one from someone who isn't an elevator mechanic?

If the Lingo isn't right or the question isn't phrased correctly we shouldn't give advice. I don't mean just badly written because English isn't the first language. We can tell amateurs from professionals.
