Im installing a new 188 board and Ln board. I have the config files saved, and have the generic software files on hand. Im going to upload them using hyper terminal. since this is a lon car, do i need to upload the .nxe software for the host and for the ln card, or do they come with the generic nxe files already installed.

If you have all the config files and the generic files you probably do not need the .nxe files. You will need an IMS tool to set up the lon. With the IMS Tool also needed is a LonTalk Card (PCC-10) from Echelon. If you do not have the _07c000.dat file but do have a saved file CarEeprm.11, CarEeprm.11 file can be renamed to _07c000.dat to load with the Generic Software via hyper terminal. After all the .dat files are loaded then you will need to create the lon with IMS Tool & PCC-10 card with cable to Communicate. Under Service on Menu, go to Lon Tools , Advanced Lon Manager and Add all the Nodes in the LonCfg.11 file. You can open the LonCfg.11 file with notepad and get the names of the nodes. If you have never done this I suggest you get a Thyssen Rep that has. After the Lon is created the LonCfg.11 can be uploaded via Lon Tools, using Lon Explorer. Good Luck!!

sbrmilitia, as with most things in life, its easy to do something once you have done it a few times. I think your remark was uncalled for, this forum is to help our brothers out, not for snide comments. Obviously your an expert on the subject, so why don't you post some good advice instead. thanks and have a great day
