getting complaint of cars not dispatching to top floor of building, 3 car group, dual risers, engineer says he presses button, light comes on but no cars will arrive, sometimes for 5 minutes or more, they usually end up walking down stair to next floor where they get a car after pressing hall button, fyi this is a unoccupied building, and the mechanic can never duplicate the problem, have replaced the io boards for hall calls. anyone have any ideas. they have experienced this many times in the last month, but we can not duplicate it

Had one similar to this. The hall button originally had a "shorted" push button bulb at that landing, it ended up taking out the input for that call in the group dispatcher. The Input board was replaced before the bulb issue was noticed, funny thing is that the bulb would light even though it was messed up 🙂

A 3 car group if it is not a serial type of dispatch, will have a master slave setup. The first two cars will have the hall calls, the 3rd car in the group doesn't. I don't remember how it is dispatched, but I don't think it will open the door for an at floor Hall Call. There is a parameter called Hall Calls, true means Hall Calls are wired to this controller, False they are not. You can try having the car at the top floor and see if this is so. I do remember seeing this problem before, so try it and see if my failing memory is correct.

Don't know this equipment but I find it weird that cars are isolated from the group and wont answer calls. All makes I have worked on don't do this.

It is a weird setup, and I only encountered it ounce on a three car group. I cannot remember how it was dispatched, but the third car was out to lunch most of the time.

This setup did not have a common panel. I think the 3rd car homed and parked at the lobby with the doors open.

i believe this 3 car group does not have a common panel as well. i was there last year but can't remember. ill keep you posted thanks john seems that you know a lot about the miprom unit. thanks for all the great info you have posted. you may be on to something, as last time i was there we were just taking over the job, and one of the cars had a few of the drive parameters defaulted, i fixed that and got the car to run nicely, and now they are complaining about this, so maybe more parameters to look at

stopped by today, could not duplicate the problem, the job did have a group controller, one thing i did notice, while checking various parameters, was that there was a parameter for CAR NUMBER, have never seen that parameter, 2 of the cars had that parameter set to 1, car 1 was 1 and car 3 was 1 car 2 was 2, so i changed car 3 to 3. also set the call_coincidence parameter in the group to false, it was true, hope this helps.

There you go! Car number is very important 🙂 Sounds like someone loaded software and used one car as a donor, then didnt set the car designation.

well did not last long, client complaining again this time mechanic was next door and ran over to see and sure enough top floor hall call on, he made it to machine room and top floor hall call input on, and output on but no cars coming, then out of no where a car came, and he could not duplicate. this bldg is empty now, but need to find out what is happening before it fills up. not sure where to go from here. he did say car 1 was sitting at the floor with the doors closed.

On the car that your man found at the top floor. How close is the directional limit too the floor?

Try placing the car at that landing then try the following;
Keep the hatch door contact from making
Keep DCL from making
Keep DOL from making
Make up the down dirrectional limit
Make up the down terminal slowdown limit

Maybe you'll get lucky?

Sorry, I meant to add place a top floor hall call each time.

On the car that was parked at the top, check that CSV override option is false, it is in the option adjust menu.I f the car has IPD you can lockout hall calls at any floor you wish, IPD front HX.
