Please see this story. http://www.miamiherald.com/news/business/tourism-cruises/article71866022.html This report eludes that this man installed the jumper but then later states that the likelihood of the incident being a deliberate act being next to impossible. Meaning no one knows who or how long the jumper had been in place. My research shows that death and injury from jumper left behind accidents have doubled in recent years! OSHA mandates and companies train on jumper safety yearly. They have attached stickers, to jumpers so blame can be placed AFTER the accident occurs. But still do not supply a product that could prevent the accident in the first place. The Time Out Jumper has been available to the elevator community thru Wurtec since 2009. If you have never heard of the Time Out Jumper please search it on youtube. But it really comes down to one simple question what is safer a jumper that will time out and remove itself from a circuit or an old manual jumper that MUST be removed by a person? If you have a hard time answering this question please rethink your job selection. ☹️
