If the hoistway dimensions provided are 6'-9"Wide. x 9'-0"Deep. (door being on the short wall). Recommended sizing as follows:
Hoistway: 6'-9"w. x 9'-0"d.
Platform: 5'-0"w. x 8'-2"d.
Inside Car: 4'-8"w. x 7'-2"d.
Based on interior SQFT this car size is under the max allowable inside area for a 3500lb car.. which code allows. Depending on jurisdiction, it may not be required but this car sizing will accommodate a 24" x 84" Gurney.
- These dimensions are based on a 42" Two Speed Side Opening door.
If the hoistway dimensions are flipped; 9'-0"w. x 6'-9"d. Recommended Sizing as follows:
Hoistway: 9'-0"w. x 6'-9"d.
Platform: 7'-4w. x 6'-0"d.
Inside Car: 7'-0"w. x 5'-2"d.
(Still under max allowable inside area for a 3500lb car)
- With these dimensions you could fit the following door arrangements:
42" Single Speed Center Parting - NOT Stretcher compliant
48" Single Speed Center Parting Door - Stretcher compliant
42" Single Speed Side Opening - Stretcher compliant
- If a larger door width is required a multi speed panel arrangement would be needed.
These dimensions are based on standard running clearances, deductions for cab walls/interiors, etc. Final platform and interior dimensions could vary slightly +/- 2" approx.
