I have an Omega 1000 that keeps intermittently failing with symptoms like MLT. This Omega does not have a dual timer board. The MLT input goes directly into the M1 module from the auxiliary Contact on the starter. When the elevator fails it is found on the bottom floor and will not respond until reset. We have removed the MLT input and it still intermittently fails. Any ideas?

Is it heating the oil and then MLT's? Could be the bypass is set too tight. Ive had quite of few units were the viscosity control created other issues. Maybe a bad timer?

This elevator hardly ever runs so it never gets hot. It doesn"t have an oil warmer device on the tank, it doesn't even have a low oil switch. There's only one input for MLT and it goes low when the starter is activated to initiate the internal timer within the software program. Even with this wire removed from the input the car will still appear to have gone into MLT mode after a few days.

wait till they pull wires out of controller and put nail polish on those. Really funny guys. There's one thing I don't get. We all are elevator guys, bottom line. Why would you do that to a brother? If you lost the job to a low bid you lost it. It's done. If you lost it by not doing your job than grow up and appreciate the fact that we are one of the most highest paying blue collar job out there. do your job accordingly, sure we all like to drink coffee and laugh at the boss but keep in mind that the customer uses those same coffee shops and sees you. Why sabotage a job, the customer finds out than you will never get the job back. sory for the rant but I fix at least one sabotage a week here in the big apple

sometimes if the oil is heating the car will move if the valve is a maxton. This will cause many different faults. US is the cause usually

hey lift tech, did you get this one fixed? If not I had one that was doing the exact same thing. It lasted for over a year before I finally fixed it. I actually got lucky when I was probing around with the meter while running the car. It turns out that the filter capacitor between terminal 6 and 7, which boosts the 24vdc control voltage to around 30 was loose in the terminal. while probing terminal 6 the voltage went below 20 vdc and the car started jerking off at the floor until it faulted. I secured the capacitor and got a solid 30 vdc, and have not been back since. that has been over 6 months now. it used to break at least two to three times a month before that, we had replaced every component in the system before finding the loose capacitor. thats a good one, also just to let you know on some of the older omegas when then starter kicked in it would lower the 24v power supply because the voltage to the transformer would dip, I have had to put 24volt regulated power supplies in some of the units to cure intermittent shutdowns.
