Per the ASME code book, the canopy exit must be 400sq inches with no side less than 16". However, regarding the suspended ceiling access panel, the code seams to only require a 12" x 20" parallel piped volume at no more than 60 degrees thru the canopy exit.... I'm trying to wrap my head around this. So if the suspended ceiling access panel (opening) is directly below the canopy exit and is at least 12" x 20" then it should pass code??? Thanks.
