I was working on a Motion Control IMC job the other day and I lost brake drop timing control. I found that the drop timing resistor had opened up. After replacing the resistor I still had no timing control for the brake drop. According to the print, it seems there is no other device controlling the brake drop. After going back and forth with Motion, it seems that the brake drop is also controlled by the Brake IGBT.
So to save yourself some time if your brake drop resistors open be sure to order a new IGBT and replace it at the same time as the resistor.

Regarding the brake IGBT, If the IGBT is damaged make sure you check the resistor in the circuit. If you just replace the IGBT the first time the brake is actuated and released, if the resistor is open ,the IGBT will be damaged again. I have had to help with this many times over the years, save your self some aggravation and always check the resistors in the brake circuit if you lose one of these devices.
